Guardian Unlimited's first ever TV advertising campaign for online launches tonight.

The commercial involves an animated newspaper that unfolds into a cityscape.

It is the first campaign for the online operation since BMP DDB was appointed to the £6m Guardian account last December.

The 60-second film was created by BMP DDB and introduces the new slogan, "Guardian.co.uk. More breadth. More depth".

The commercial breaks during Channel 4 News and will run for five weeks supported by poster, radio and online adverts and a viral marketing campaign.

"Most people imagine Guardian Unlimited as a newspaper online. This advertising is simply stating that it's much bigger than that," said Marc Sands, marketing director of Guardian Newspapers.
