This dim Belgian animated movie centres on Sammy, a sea turtle, his best friend, Ray, and his future mate, Shelly. It begins at the point when Sammy and Shelly get laid on a beach in Baja, California, crawl out of their eggs and are separated for some years until they're reunited after experiencing all the horrors that can be inflicted upon them by mankind, including an oil spill, capture in a trawler's net, the effects of global warming, being trapped in the lock of the Panama Canal, and near-strangulation by discarded plastic bags.
Except for a very "Oh là là" French cat, the characters speak in a variety of unsuitable British accents and the movie falls several sea miles of open water behind Pixar's Finding Nemo.
