Jennifer Lawrence and David O Russell are to reunite on a second film following the Oscar-nominated success of their debut collaboration, Silver Linings Playbook, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Lawrence will have a cameo in Russell's forthcoming conman drama about the Abscam sting operation run by the FBI in the late 1970s. Now it appears the star of The Hunger Games and Winter's Bone will have a bigger role in a second film titled The Ends of the Earth. Described as a fact-based love story about a powerful oil tycoon who loses everything after he is caught in an affair, it is likely to follow Russell's still untitled Abscam film into production.
"Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humour that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease," Russell said of his decision to recast the two-time Oscar nominee. "She is that kind of person." He added: "She is the most dedicated person I know. She is devoted to her family, and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless, and she always makes it look easy."
Russell is assembling something of a regular ensemble for his forthcoming projects. The Abscam sting drama also features Silver Linings Playbook's Bradley Cooper, as well as The Fighter's Christian Bale and Amy Adams.
