Batman fans have been given the teasing first glimpse of the new look Batmobile by Zack Snyder, director of the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" movie.
Snyder revealed the vehicle's rear wheels and axle yesterday in a tantalising tweet, though the rest of the car remained hidden beneath a tarpaulin. The new Batmobile is expected to appear in the US film-maker's followup to last year's Man of Steel, in which Ben Affleck's caped crusader will battle it out with Henry Cavill's Superman.
Snyder tweeted: "Could be time to pull the tarp … Tomorrow?"
The new Batmobile has been designed by Patrick Tatopoulos, who previously worked on 300: Rise of an Empire and Underworld. It follows the revolutionary tumbler vehicle from the Christopher Nolan Batman films and has been the subject of rampant speculation from fans.
The costumes worn by Batman and Wonder Woman, who is also set to appear in the as-yet-untitled new film, also look likely to be revealed imminently. The costume designer for "Batman vs Superman", Michael Wilkinson, tweeted yesterday:
"Not long now...!! Can't wait to see Batman&WonderWoman costumes ..."
Snyder's film also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter. It is due to hit cinemas in May 2016.
