"There's nothing on this earth sexier, believe me gentlemen, than a woman you have to salute in the morning," said Jack Nicholson's famously quote-worthy hard-ass Colonel Nathan R Jessep in A Few Good Men.

"There's nothing on this earth sexier, believe me gentlemen, than a woman you have to salute in the morning," said Jack Nicholson's famously quote-worthy hard-ass Colonel Nathan R Jessep in A Few Good Men.

This scene, and a number of others from famous Nicholson films including the Shining, Batman and Chinatown, have been spliced together in an ad supporting Hillary Clinton.

With the race for the Democratic nomination wide open again after Clinton's wins in Texas and Ohio, that means thermonuclear campaigning using A-list celebrity buddies.

(Those who can't face any more ads about the political race, look away now and take a peek at a super-gnarly "wing strike" by an Airbus coming in to land or Mariah Carey attempting to revive her career using the tried and true method of wearing almost no clothes in a music video.)

Those who can, let's go onward.

Nicholson is just the latest celeb to join Hillary in the blue corner following Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand and the luscious Eva Longoria Parker.

In the, er, other blue corner, Obama can count on Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro and George Clooney.

As the battle between the two Democratic candidates skirts the fine line between nice and nasty, Hillary has gone for the "You're shite on foreign policy" uppercut with a new ad called "Children".

Obama's double entry this week is a pair of funky ads-meet-music-videos by the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.

They feature all sorts of stars including Jessica Alba (I'm with whoever she wants me to vote for), that ginger doctor guy from ER and John Leguziamo.

Could someone out there tell me the name of the guy at 2.12 mins who always plays roles like "Spanish-type henchman three" in loads of movies?

Although the Republicans didn't make the Viral Video Chart this week, in the name of a fair battle their celebrity firepower should be touched upon.

John McCain has managed to get both the old 1980s action movie rivals Sylvester "I have another Rocky/Rambo in me" Stallone and the "Governator" Arnold Schwarzenegger on his side.

If he could just get Bruce Willis they could launch a mediocre restaurant chain... nah, it would never work.

And of course Mike Huckabee was ahead of his time with the ridiculous, yet curiously addictive, over-the-top Chuck Norris ads.
