Making Shakespeare's scripts accessible to a contemporary audience can be a challenge. Even more so when you're playing to mixed Deaf and hearing audiences. Deafinitely Theatre's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream tells Shakespeare's story of four young lovers using a combination of British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English (SSE) and Visual Vernacular (VV) to make the play accessible to a wide range of theatre-goers.

We'd like to see how you'd go about creating a scene from Shakespeare using some form of visual communication. How you do that is up to you: maybe you'll translate the script into a sign language. Perhaps you'll create an animation or a flip book – or perform a dance or mime.

Whatever you do, we don't want you to use any speech or other sound: your video should be completely silent!

The video that makes the most creative and widely accessible use of visual communication, according to an independent judge, will win its creator two tickets to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe in London on Saturday 7 June at 2pm. The prize also includes a tour of Shakespeare’s Globe and free access to the Exhibition at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
