Exclusively for those who pre-ordered Alien: Isolation (and inevitably for everyone else too in a couple of months’ time) there is Crew Expendable, a downloadable extra that lets you play a scenario aboard the Nostromo, the doomed spaceship in Alien. Playing as Ripley, Parker or Dallas, you need to navigate the half-dark, flickering interior of the ship in an attempt to lure the alien into an airlock and flush it into the icy vacuum of space. Those who pre-ordered from certain shops also get Last Survivor, which puts you in Ripley’s probably extremely sweaty space boots as she hops on to the escape shuttle for one last claustrophobic scuffle with the alien. Original actors including Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright reconvened to do the voice acting, and with the mood perfectly recreated in the game’s engine, it’s like an interactive little extra helping of Ridley Scott’s original Alien.
