Benedict Cumberbatch stars in Doctor Strange

Benedict Cumberbatch has been filming in New York, Oxford, London and Nepal for his latest film release, Doctor Strange. For those unfamiliar with the Marvel superhero, he plays a consultant, Stephen Strange, whose life is transformed after a car accident and an encounter with the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who also trained Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor). The film is due to hit the screens in October and November. It was also announced this week that Cumberbatch will voice the Grinch in an animated adaptation of Dr Seuss’s classic children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

We love stars doing impressions, so check out Game of Thrones actor Sophie Turner, aka Sansa Stark, doing an impression of Jon Snow and Justine Bieber. Also this week, we have the release of a new Taylor Swift video, New Romantics, and a much darker stage appearance from punk band The Story So Far. Their frontman, Parker Cannon, was so annoyed at a girl fan on the stage during their set that he kicked her off, earning the band a ban from the Mod Club, Toronto.

If that wasn’t cruel enough, we have a wincingly horrible prank from Cabot Phillips who drove his sister home after wisdom tooth surgery and used her recovery from the dentist’s drugs to dupe her into believing that zombies that attacker their city. The poor thing was confused – a little like former Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, who can’t think of a name for their new motoring show on Amazon – or can they?

Kobe Bryant has played his last game for the Los Angeles Lakers and we’ve got a great tribute from everyone who loved – and loathed – the basketball star. Animal lovers will enjoy our clip of a dancing gorilla from Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire and a (staged) scary moment for snowboarder Kelly Murphy, who looked through her video selfies and discovered she had been chased by a bear. It turns out the video was faked, but we’ve got snow problem with that when it’s this convincing.
